It is my pleasure to welcome you to Jaipur and especially to the palaces, forts and other properties that belong to the royal family. A lot is happening in the City Palace these days. In the Museum, we are working on new galleries to display the finest works of art from our collections. The Painting & Photography Gallery is already open and more are in progress. We have launched a series of splendid books on our collections for you to enjoy at leisure, which are available at the newly expanded museum shop, Palace Atelier. Other recently added attractions include the Sculpture Lumiere, a sound and light show that forms part of the Museum at Night event, and the new palace restaurant, Baradari. Look out for our programme of gallery talks and other events. Please be sure to visit Jaigarh, the fort in the old city of Amber. Its rugged walls and cannons speak of bygone ages, while there is an exhibition in the Guards Gallery that focuses on the more recent roles of Jaipur and its Maharajas in both war and peace.
